Listing Description

Monjo is a small town in the Khumbu region of Nepal. It is situated in the Dudh Kosi river valley, between Phakding and Jorsale, at an elevation of 2,835 m, directly beneath the Sagarmatha National Park entrance gate and check-point, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979.
During their journey to Sagarmartha (Mount Everest) through the Gokyo Ri route or Tengboche route, trekkers frequently make a pit stop at the trailhead in Lukla and Monjo as an alternative to Phakding.
The majority of the guesthouses in the village are there because it serves as a hub for the tourism industry.
