Beautiful Surkhet is a tourist spot in Nepal’s Karnali region. Surkhet District, one of the ten districts of Karnali and also known as “The region of rivers and lush hills,” is located roughly 600 kilometers to the west of Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. The district is the longest in Nepal and has a total area of 2,488.64 square kilometers. Mountains, hills, and rivers are all around this primarily rural area.

Because of its stunning landscapes, extensive cultural history, and varied animals, Surkhet is a popular tourist destination with travelers from all over the world. The district’s residents come from a variety of ethnic groups, including the Brahmin, Chhetri, Magar, Thakuri, and Dalit populations. Surkhet’s population increased from 288,527 in 2001 to 350,804 in 2011, with 169,461 men and 181,381 women.

Surkhet is renowned for having stunning natural scenery, including undulating hills, lush valleys, and lovely rivers. One of the longest rivers in Nepal, the Karnali River, flows through the district and offers stunning landscape for travelers to enjoy. Moreover, the area is home to several stunning waterfalls, including the well-known Chhinchu Jharana and Chamar Jharana.

The Birendra Tal Park, a lovely park located in the center of the district, is one of Surkhet’s most notable attractions. The park includes a lovely lake that offers a peaceful setting for guests to enjoy. The park is a great location for picnics and other outdoor activities because it is home to many lovely trees, flowers, and animals.

About 20 kilometers from the district administrative center is the Dailekh Hill, another well-liked tourist spot in Surkhet. The hill is an excellent location for hiking and other outdoor activities and is renowned for its expansive views of the mountains and valleys in the area. The hill is also the location of a number of temples, including the Shiva Temple, which receives a lot of tourists every year.

Surkhet is renowned for having a rich cultural history. Hindu and Buddhist customs are among the diverse cultural influences present in the district. There are various temples in the area, including the Bal Gopal Mandir and the Bheri Kali Temple, which are well-liked by both locals and visitors.
