Listing Description

In Nepal’s Sindhupalchowk District, there are five Hindu holy lakes collectively known as Panch Pokhari. The world’s ninth-highest altitude wetland is there. Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims both enjoy visiting the lake during Janai Purnima.

One of the key characteristics of Langtang National Park, which is situated in the central Himalayan districts of Nuwakot, Rasuwa, and Sindhulpalchok, is Panch Pokhari. In 2011, the Postal Services Division of the Government of Nepal released a stamp with Pokhari on it.

Panch Pokhara is located at a height of approximately 4100 meters above sea level. In Nepal, this is a well-known Hindu pilgrimage place. North of the Kathmandu valley, there is a journey known as Panch Pokhari, which takes in the Jugal Himal chain of peaks, which includes Dorje Lakpa (6966m), Madiya (6257m), and Phurbi Chhyachu (6,637 m). Although being close to Kathmandu, this area is uninhabited and secluded.
