Listing Description

Kunde is a settlement located in the Sagarmatha National Park in the Khumbu area of Nepal. It is situated next to Khumjung village, which is located in the valley under Khumbu Yül-Lha, the Sherpa people’s holiest peak.

Located between 3800 and 4000 meters above sea level is the Khumjung Valley. On the western portion of the valley, Kunde is marginally higher than Khumjung. It is the location of Sir Edmund Hillary’s Kunde Hospital.

Kunde, which is situated in the Himalayas close to the Nepal/China border, is less than 25 kilometers from Mount Everest.
