In the central Nepalese Gandaki Zone’s Syangja District, Pindikhola was a village development committee. 4,956 individuals were counted in 1,119 distinct households during the 2011 Nepal census.

The study focuses mostly on Syangja district’s Pindikhola VDC. Pindikhola VDC, one of the 60 VDCs in the Syangja district, is situated 59 kilometers (km) away from the district headquarters in the western part of this district (44 kilometers from Putalibazar to Galyang and 15 kilometers from Galyang to Chhabisebazar).

It is bordered by Taklak, Triveni, and Shaligram of the Parbat district in the north, Sirsekot VDC and some of Pelakot VDC in the east, Niwuakharka VDC and some of Pelakot VDC in the south, the Kaligandaki River, and some of Taklak and Shaligram VDC of the Parbat district in the west. It is located between 700 and 2000 meters above sea level. Around 10% of the area is only plain that has been farmed, and the other land is unevenly covered with woodland, shrubland, farming, grazing, tiny streams, and other types of human settlement. This VDC has covered a total of 18.45% of Syangja district’s total area ( i.e. 19135 hector).
