Betana wetland is one of the most popular tourism area of all time in eastern Nepal. It is located between belbari and laxmimarga. Geographical coordinate of the area is Latitude: 26.659323 and Longitude: 87.432121. Situated on the char koshey jhadi at 123 meters from sea level, it covers the area of around 5 hectares.

You can witnes peoples crowd in the region every day where thousand of locals as well as foreigners visit for short breaks and refreshments. It welcomes around 1000-2000 peoples from popular cities like Itahari, Birtamode, Damak, Belbari, Urlabari etc. during weekends and the number is quite low during rest of the days.

It’s most accessible destination in eastern Nepal as it touches Easet-West Mahendra Highway. You can get to Betana Wetland either from Itahari(west side) as well as from Damak or Birtamode (East side). Distance from Itahari is 12 KM and distance from Damak and BIrtamode to Betana Simasar is 25 KM and 61 KM respectively.
