Bhimeshwar, formerly known as Charikot, is a municipality in northeastern Nepal and the headquarters of Dolakha District in Province No. 3. Established in 1997, this picturesque destination is a cultural, historical, and natural treasure. At an altitude of 1,554 meters (5,101 feet), Bhimeshwar serves as the gateway to the majestic Rolwaling Himalayas and boasts a unique blend of spiritual significance and scenic beauty.


Geographic and Historical Overview

Bhimeshwar is bordered by the Sun Koshi River to the west, Khimti Khola River to the east, and the mighty Tama Koshi River running through the middle. Its stunning backdrop includes the Rolwaling Himalayas, featuring prominent peaks such as Gauri Shankar and Melungtse. Gauri Shankar, revered as a manifestation of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, is a symbol of both natural and cultural reverence.
