The Damak Business Complex, also widely known as the Damak View Tower, stands as a beacon of progress and a testament to modern urban development in Eastern Nepal. Located in Damak Municipality-3, Jhapa, this 18-story marvel is a proud addition to Nepal’s evolving architectural landscape. It was officially inaugurated by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, marking it as a symbol of national pride and a milestone in regional development.

The tower is a colossal structure, built at a cost of NPR 1.63 billion, and occupies an expansive area of 4 bighas and 16 kathas. Initiated on June 27, 2076 B.S., the construction was undertaken by CGIEC, a prominent Chinese company, in partnership with Ashish Om Sairam JV. While originally scheduled to be completed in 30 months, the project faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As of now, approximately 75% of the physical construction has been completed, and it is expected to be fully operational by mid-2025.

Once completed, the Damak View Tower will feature modern facilities such as commercial spaces, cultural hubs, and an observation deck that offers breathtaking views of the plains and hills of Eastern Nepal. The government plans to collaborate with private enterprises for its management, ensuring a sustainable operational model through entry fees and leasing agreements.

Strategically located about 3 kilometers from Damak Bazaar, the tower is a short drive from major attractions such as Kashi Garden and Bhatbhateni Supermarket Damak. Its location makes it a convenient stop for visitors exploring the region. Kashi Garden, situated nearby, complements the urban vibrancy of the complex by offering serene green spaces and horticultural delights. Together, these destinations promise a balanced experience of modernity and nature.

The tower’s presence is also redefining the identity of the local village, Dhukurpani, where it is situated. Once a quiet settlement, the area is now poised to become a bustling hub of tourism and commerce. According to local residents, such as Umanath Dhakal, the Damak View Tower represents not just infrastructure but a vision of prosperity and community pride.

Adjacent to the tower, a 59-acre Smart City project, named “New Damak,” is underway. This initiative, led by Damak Municipality, aims to create a sustainable and integrated urban environment with modern amenities like roads, gardens, schools, healthcare facilities, and sanitation systems. The project, built in partnership with local landowners, exemplifies the area’s commitment to planned development and urban sustainability.

The development of the Damak Business Complex has been a community-centric effort, with a 15-member Damak View Tower Land Consolidation and Management Support Committee overseeing its progress. Local residents have contributed 12 acres of land for this project, emphasizing their active participation in regional growth.
