Listing Description

One of the main Hindu pilgrimage sites is the Mahadev Temple in Latikoili, also known as the Shiva Temple, which is situated west of the Kakrebihar Temple. When King Birendra Bir Bikram Shahdev came and gave the District Panchayat the order to restore, this temple was repaired. According to an inscription that was discovered near the temple, it was constructed in 1639 B.S. by Yogi Aatmanath and his disciples, who were disciples of Yogi Langarnath. By Surkhet’s District Panchayat in 2040 B.S., this temple was rebuilt. Temple renovation was carried by by artisans from Bhaktapur.

This temple is famous among hindus and Buddhist. Thousands of devotees come to visit during Shivratri,Teej and other important festival.
