Listing Description

In the Karnali province, in the far western region of Nepal, is the lovely district of Salyan. According to the 2011 census, it has a population of about 241,716 people living in a 1,462 km2 area. The neighborhood is located at an elevation between 480 and 3200 meters above sea level.

Salyan is renowned for its gorgeous natural scenery, breathtaking Himalayan mountain views, and varied cultural history. Several Hindu temples can be found in the district, including the Devi Temple at Khairabang in Sarda Municipality as well as the Shiva Temples in Chhayachhetra and Laxmipur. There are about nine temples in the region, and this one is a must-see for tourists who want to learn about the area’s cultural and religious history.

In addition to the temples, Salyan offers a number of other tourist hotspots. The region is renowned for its beautiful waterfalls, especially the Hima waterfall, a favorite spot for hikers and nature enthusiasts. A number of stunning lakes and rivers, ideal for fishing and other water sports, can be found in the neighborhood. White water rafting is a well-liked activity on the lovely Sarda River, which runs through the neighborhood.

Salyan’s lovely woodlands, which are home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, are another reason why tourists travel there. The area is home to many endangered plant and animal species and has a high biodiversity. Travelers can appreciate the area’s natural splendor by hiking through the area’s forests and wildlife refuges.

Salyan’s population is diversified in terms of ethnicity, including members of the Brahmin, Chhetri, Thakuri, Magar, and Dalit ethnic groups among them. Those who want to learn about the local culture should definitely visit the district, which hosts a number of festivals and fairs throughout the year.
