Listing Description

Kanki Mai or Mai khola has several points of tourism like Domukha, Dhanuskoti, Chuli, Chepti and Maipokhari.

Little village Domukha is located in Jhapa district, in the eastern region of Nepal. The village offers a tranquil and serene setting for visitors looking to escape the busy cities because it is bordered by lush hills and agricultural fields. Domukha, where the indigenous Limbu people makes up the majority of the population, is well-known for its rich culture and traditions. The Limbu way of life may be experienced in Domukha, along with its distinctive cuisine, dances, and music.

The settlement serves as a starting point for trips to the well-liked hill resort of Ilam, which is renowned for its picturesque landscape and tea gardens. Ultimately, Domukha provides a window into the way of life of the people in Eastern Nepal and is an excellent place for tourists who want to fully experience the culture.

The Mai Khola or Kankai River has the potential to overflow across the hundreds of hectors of fertile plains of Jhapa during the monsoon season. It is really lovely to see local fishermen casting in the river and kids cooling off in the sun. On the Day of Magh 1st, the Kotihom Surunga Municipality hosts the annual Mai Mela Fair, which attracts millions of visitors from Jhapa, Morang, Ilam, and other parts of India. The locals use the Kankai Aryaghat for death rituals in the Kotihom bank of the river, which was newly erected by the public investment. We also think that the river that corresponds to our district of Jhapa is called the Kankai Mai.
