General Information

Arjundhara is a well-known pilgrimage destination honoring Lord Arjun and is regarded as the Pashupatinath of eastern Nepal. The location is of great historical significance because it is thought that Arjun, one of the Panch Pandavas, used to come here to graze his cows. One day, when there was no water nearby and he was thirsty, he mounted his bow and arrow and shot the ground. As a result, water emerged from the ground, and he drank from it. Many think that the same water source still supplies the pond with water. In 2065 BC, the Arjundhara temple, which is large enough, was built in a lovely pagoda-style. Arjundhara Dham is very popular among religious tourists especially Hindu. Local people from around 25KM radius visit this holy place yearly to seed SadBij or Satbyu.

The temple is situated in the eastern Nepalese Jhapa district’s Arjundhara VDC. The temple is even more beautiful because of its proximity to a pond. The temple is a short drive or 45 minutes by plane from Kathmandu Valley to Bhadrapur and 30 minutes by vehicle to Arjundhara, making it easily reachable from Kathmandu Valley.

Tourism Attractions Close By:

The popular Jhapa bazaar, the Jhapa tea garden, and Kankai Mai Temple are close by tourist attractions to Arjundhara Temple. The Jhapa Bazaar is a great place to learn about the way of life in the area. Also, you can go to the tea gardens to smell the fresh tea and see how it’s made.

Transport:

There are two ways to get to the Arjundhara Temple: by air and by road. The closest airport to the Arjundhara temple is Bhadrapur, where you may catch a flight from Kathmandu. You may travel to the temple by automobile from there in around 30 minutes. You can also take a bus from Kathmandu to Jhapa, where you can then take a cab or a local bus to the temple.

Distance from Kathmandu:

Arjundhara Temple is almost 600 kilometers away from Kathmandu. You can take a 45-minute flight from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur, and then drive for another 30 minutes to get to the temple. You can also take a bus from Kathmandu to Jhapa, where you can then take a cab or a local bus to the temple.

Arjundhara Temple is a great site to get a sense of the spirituality and culture of the area. You can stroll around the tranquil area around the pond and admire the lovely temple. To learn more about the way of life and culture of the area, you can also go to the adjacent Kankai Mai Temple and Jhapa Bazaar.

Nepal Tourism Hub recommends The well-known Arjundhara Temple, which honors Lord Arjun, as the Pashupatinath of eastern Nepal. Due to its considerable historical significance, the temple draws both casual and religious travelers. The temple is close to several popular tourist destinations and is easily reachable from Kathmandu. You can go to this lovely temple to learn about the spirituality and culture of the area.
